Congratulations to Leyu Lyu for successfully defending his M.S. thesis!
Leyu's work explored how well specialized meetings tools (e.g., Otter.ai, Fireflies) and general LLMs (e.g. Claude.ai, ChatGPT) can automatically summarize real-life software maintenance meetings, so to understand the potential of using them in practice to avoid having to manually takes notes. The answer? They perform not too bad, but at the same time, also have some serious shortcomings especially when it comes to summarize the important part of meetings.
